Ordnance Handler/facilities Maintenance Coordinator

The Department of Emergency & Military Affairs (DEMA) is the headquarters for the Arizona National Guard. The Division of Emergency Management's mission is to coordinate emergency services and efforts to governmental agencies to reduce the impact of disaster on person and property. The Division of Administrative Services maintains the business operations of human resources, finance, purchasing/contracting, and legislative activities. PAY RATE: $17.6992 - $24.6736 per hour (DOE)
State Grade 20
This position is eligible for over-time compensation.
WORK LOCATION: Camp Navajo, Bellemont, AZ
Position Description:
The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator (FMC) serves as the single point of contact for all Ordnance Operations Department facility maintenance activities for both active and inactive storage sites which includes the management of controlled locking mechanisms, keys and coordination.
Responsibilities include:
Providing escort and oversight for building inspections, documents inspections, and facilitates work requests for repairs and inspection discrepancies.
Maintaining status of progress of building repairs and provides feed-back on a weekly basis.
Assisting quality assurance in annual magazine inspections and monitoring overall building conditions.
Performing operational tasks, in compliance with Standing Operating Procedures or other similar task guidance procedures, for the safe and efficient execution of either shipping, receiving, or warehousing operations relating to all customer commodities (AA&E and Non-AA&E).
Ensures all tasks are conducted in accordance with DOD, Federal, State and/or Local regulatory guidance. Report any and all non-compliance issues relating to safety through proper supervisory channels.
General housekeeping and user level maintenance of all associated departmental facilities and surrounding work areas, to ensure and provide for a safe and healthy work environment.
Reads and reviews all regulatory documentation relating to assigned operational tasks, ensuring all updates and revisions are understood; and ensures assigned personnel meet their certification eligibility requirements.
Maintains Crew Chief AA&E and Non-AA&E certification eligibility through the performance and attendance of required sustainment training in accordance with the Training, Qualification, and Certification Program.
Special Job Requirements:
Must be in possession of, and ability to, retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment; CDL (Class A, Combination vehicles). In and Out of State travel required. Candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal history investigation and must possess the ability to achieve a favorable National Agency Check with Investigation as well as be able to obtain and maintain a "Secret" security clearance. Selected candidate must satisfactorily complete the following trainings and certification within 12 months of date of hire: OSHA Topics General Awareness and Initial training modules, DOD Explosives Awareness and Hazardous Materials training courses (Ammo 45, Ammo 54, Ammo 63, Ammo 67, Ammo 68, etc.), Material Handling Equipment Qualifications (Forklifts, Power Pallet Jacks, Pneumatic equipment, Hydraulic beds/jacks, etc), Hazardous Materials Endorsement (applied and associated with CDL), , Certification in Conventional AA&E and Non-Hazmat operations, Annual Explosive Certification Board eligibility.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
The application and usage of Federal, State and Local laws, rules, regulation, policies and procedures governing the handling of all AA&E, as well as how to find answers to safely handle AA&E.
Safe use of assigned powered equipment and basic hand tools.
Camp Navajo Standard Operating Procedures involving the understanding, operation, maintenance and user level repairs of MHE, WHE, CMV's and other associated tools and equipment.
Basic principles and procedures for the safe storage and handling of AA&E.
Training materials or regulatory guidance and being capable of retaining that information.
Skilled in:
Safe and proper operation of all equipment and associated tools.
Communicating effectively through written, visual and verbal communication.
Building relationships with a diverse workforce in a multicultural setting.
Being a flexible team player whom thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
Regularly employing good reading comprehension skills as well as the adequate application of Technical Orders, Technical Manuals, Job Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, Federal/State/Local regulations, regulatory documents or compliance materials.
Basic principles of writing reports, memorandums, operations procedures, etc.
Ability to:
Show a high degree of attention to operational details and maintaining 100% situational awareness.
Apply procedures set forth in Technical Orders, Technical Manuals, Job Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, Federal/State/Local regulations, regulatory documents or compliance materials.
Find solutions to problems using creativity, reasoning, and past experiences along with the available information and resources.
Obtain and maintain appropriate certification in all associated and implied task in accordance with applicable regulations.
Obtain a general background and good understanding of facility maintenance cycles and requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
